Ian McCarthy - MSc Ost, GSR, CSCS, SFMA, CKTP
Ian has triple professional titles as an Osteopathic Practitioner, Athletic Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
His clinical expertise lay in the assessment and diagnosis of his patients injuries to provide long term solutions to their pain or injuries. Pain is a symptom of body-wide movement dysfunctions and treating pain locally does not provide long term relief. Accurately assessing and treating these underlying movement dysfunctions is therefore of upmost importance.
In clinical practice Ian uses a combination of targeted osteopathic corrective exercises and manual therapy to alleviate pains to any part of the neuromusculoskeletal system (nerves, muscles and joints). Working in professional sports earlier in his career, Ian also gained vast experience in the prehabilitation, treatment and rehabilitation of Olympic, NFL, ATP, MLS and elite NCAA athletes.
Education:
MSc Osteopathy – University College of Osteopathy – London, England
Sports Medicine Fellowship – Stanford University – California, USA

In his spare time, Ian enjoys skiing and playing drums in a musical group. He has also found a new passion in traithlons, completing his first “Ironman” this year, a race comprising of a 3.86km swim, 180km bike ride and 42.2km run.
